Howdy - just a note from the author on installing RIO. If you got this
program from a shareware catalog, the files probably aren't compressed because
they take less than 360K uncompressed. Just copy the files to a subdirectory
on your hard disk, or use them right off the floppy if you're tight for hard
disk space.
Read RIO.DOC if you're a read-the-docs-first kinda person, or to jump right
in, load the TSR portion by typing "RIO-TSR". Then run the program "RIO" to
view the log file of DOS calls made just loading RIO.EXE, and see what options
can be changed on the TSR. (The log file will default to C:\RIO if there is a
C: drive, and RIO will know to display the active log file.)
Quickie description of RIO:
RIO 2.15 (7/91) is a memory-resident (TSR) program that logs DOS I/O
operations & functions to a text file. Great for debugging software and
network problems by showing DOS calls & their results, w/o need for source
code. Now includes great non-TSR prog to browse file & change TSR
settings, e.g. log only certain interrupts. Settings can be saved to
a config file. Also logs Novell Netware & direct disk I/O calls. Useful
for advanced non-programmers on up. Shareware by Rock, $25 + $2 s/h
Hope ya find it useful!!
